CHOOSING FAVOURITE GOD (ISHT DEVTA)

Indian possesses its ancient scriptures (like Vedas, Puranas etc.) as national heritage and the same is believed by other countries also. People across the world believes India and its divine culture with respect to spirituality and devotion.

As our Hindu Mythology, there are 330 Million Gods in Indian Religion. But many people even across India are confused to select one as their predominant deity as there is enough numbers of Gods are listed.

Also we Indians are very much concern about the Grahas (Planets) and their movements which also affect the conditions of the individual. The 9 planets situated in Universe which governs our lives (as per hindu myths) are stated below:-

1.           Surya
2.           Chandra
3.           Mangal
4.           Brahaspati
5.           Buddh
6.           Shani
7.           Shukra
8.           Rahu
9.           Ketu

To maintain balance, peace and happiness in our lives, one should have to control the ruling planets who govern the individual progress.
Question and doubts arises in our minds:-

v Which God should be Worshiped? As there are too many Gods as per Hindu Myths.

v Different planets governs at different times as per their planetary movement and revolving duration, So do we have to change our God from time to time?

  1. Is it necessary that inspite of worshiping all the forms of god, we chose one as our ishta deva? Why is it important that we do so?

  2. Yes, It is necessary to choose one god instead of many. It is better to go in one specific direction by means of choosing an ISHT DEVTA.

For example: We have different brands of things available in market but we choose the best suited for us, in short the thing which we like the most, we purchase it.
